Ms. Grubbs takes the time to make her classroom a safe space for all students so that they are able to take risks and feel like they are a part of a classroom community. When my daughter Eliza started kindergarten, she was very anxious about the transition to a dual-language program where she would have to communicate in English for half of her day. Although Eliza is bilingual, she felt that her English was not good enough. Ms. Grubbs took her time building a relationship with Eliza. Her calm nature and encouragement gave Eliza the confidence she needed. Recently she started reading early readers and is excited about reading thanks to Ms. Grubb’s reading instruction. As parents, we trust that our daughter is in a classroom that meets her academic and socio emotional needs. We are confident that she will have an incredible year and thank Ms. Grubbs for her work with Eliza.
